I'd stick the 5.0 into a Taurus, drive the rear wheels, and name it the Marauder. Instant best seller.

All the yes. Plus, let's go ahead and make the badass 5.2 from the GT350 an option.

and call it something badass like the svt marauder, or super marauder, or the super marauding super snake :D

Just give us a fucking 4-door mustang-based sedan Ford. Sell it as a Lincoln.

You could just bring the Falcon over from Aus

I would just import the Falcon.

Yeah they should have a powerful version in black and two other model specific colors.

The problem with these cars is often that they're not instant best sellers. I believe the SRT Viper works had to shut down for a while due to poor sales. Nor do I think the Impala SS has been doing that well despite very good reviews. I've said a version of this here before - when the enthusiast community demands a particular car and the manufacturer responds, we have to go out and buy it. Otherwise, they won't listen next time we want a powerful rear-drive wagon/shooting brake/whatever.

I'm not impressed with the Taurus.
They got it right once....

Seeing as the Mercury Marauder didn't exactly fly out of showrooms I'm not sure about that name. However I really wish they would sell the Falcon over here. Chevy has the SS, if they sold a Ford Falcon with an optional stick, made it look a little more sporty and offered a cheaper model (maybe with less equipment) I think it would sell. The SS looks too much like a Malibu. Make it a little more exciting and they'd have a winner I think.

Or do a Fusion version and rebrand it as a Mercury Capri.

Brand it as the Mercury Marauder and bring the fight to the SS and Charger. I like this.

oh yes a cushy GT with the 5.0 is necessary as well. Good point. Make it look like fords CTS-V coupe

dodge/chrysler sells chargers and 300s by the truckload though. Don't know why a v8 sedan necessarily has to share the same fate as the SS...

Price point, styling, and RWD-only.

it's a car that doesn't exist though so who's to say Ford wouldn't make it exactly like a charger

Oh, ok, for some reason I thought you were talking about literally sticking the 5.0 into a Taurus, driving the rear wheels, and naming it the Marauder.

I made a post about this and I agree 100%. Treat it like the Charger/Challenger relationship. A RWD Ford Sedan with all 3 Mustang engine options. Or they could use this platform for Lincoln. They desperately need something to get people into the floors there.

Except don't call it a Lincoln. In fact kill Lincoln. It's time is up.

yeah I just think that it is pointless to not have a competitor in that market. Ford can't let Chevy and Dodge have all the fun, it's unamerican to not have a competitor. Bring back the Falcon!

I have good memories of the Lincoln LSC. The earliest memory I have was being planted in the backseat. It also had really cool looking seatbelts. The black on black color scheme also made it really hot during the summer.
